What to Consider when Planning your Wedding Ceremony at Oxnead Hall

At Oxnead Hall, our civil ceremony options are varied and fabulous, from the impressive Fountain Room to our tranquil woodland area and even a beautiful medieval church. We hope these thoughts will offer a little inspiration when it comes to planning your perfect wedding ceremony.

All About Numbers

It’s always good to know how many people you would like to invite to your wedding and whether you will have a smaller number during the day with additional evening guests. If you’re planning a more intimate ceremony, our tranquil Orangery seats just 50 guests. Meanwhile, the Fountain Room accommodates up to 140 for your ceremony and the beautiful church up to 90.

Inside or Out?

Can you picture yourself marrying beneath a blue sky or do you love the thought of saying ‘I do’ in a splendid room with beautiful views? Consider your season when making this decision and remember that, as the venue is exclusively yours, you can always change your mind depending on the weather!
The elegant Fountain Room is adjoined to the Great Barn, with double doors leading out to the pretty Fountain Courtyard – just the place if you’d like an indoor ceremony with welcome drinks outside.
Meanwhile, our exquisite gardens give you the opportunity to marry beside the river, amidst the Tudor parterre, amongst the water gardens or even in a magical woodland setting. With 15 acres in total, there are so many truly romantic settings.

Your Ceremony Choice

One of your main considerations will probably be whether to have a religious or civil ceremony. At Oxnead Hall, civil ceremonies can take place in a number of wonderful settings and we’re also fortunate to have the beautiful medieval church of St Michael and All Angels within easy reach through our ancient walled gardens. Secluded by woodland, its romantic ambience is heightened by the old oak pews, chandeliers and stained glass windows.

And Finally…

With your ceremony venue in mind, it’s time to plan the ceremony itself. Music and readings add personalisation while pretty floral arrangements introduce your style and colour scheme. Our Events Team will work closely with you to decide on the natural flow of your day and where you might have welcome drinks and canapés, raising that first glass of Champagne to celebrate your marriage.
If you have yet to visit Oxnead Hall, we would love to show you all we have to offer. Simply call our friendly team on 01485 500292 or contact us online.
