Toya Johnson-Rushing’s wedding to Atlanta sports manager Robert “Red” Rushing looked like a storybook “happily ever after” ending that most young girls imagine. The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Cabo San Lucas on October 15th.
At first, fans were only able to see short clips and pictures of the big day on her social media accounts. Nonetheless, the Before Bed Headz founder surprised her followers with a complete view of the pristinely decorated venue and tearjerking nuptials. Toya recently shared the video on her YouTube channel, entitled, Here’s Your Invitation to Our Wedding Ceremony.
Clearly, the wedding party was a family affair, as shown in the footage. First down the aisle were Red’s parents, followed by Toya’s mother, Anita Johnson Andrews. Toya’s 23-year-old daughter Reginae, from her previous marriage to rapper Lil Wayne, was the maid of honor. Red’s daughter Jalyn served as a junior bridesmaid and his son Robert, Jr. looked to be his best man.
Toya and Red’s four-year-old daughter Reign Rushing,4, served as the flower girl.
It was also very much star-studded. The maids-of-honor included singer Monica, Xscape member Tiny, Rasheeda from Love and Hip Hop, Monyetta Shaw from Real Housewives of Atlanta, and actress Angela Love. Although not shown in the video, in attendance were rapper T.I., singer LeToya Luckett, singer R.L. of the group Next, Bravo reality star Porsha Williams and more.
When it was time for Toya’s entrance, R&B singer Faith Evans serenaded the bride down the aisle with her 1998 hit ‘Never Gonna Let You Go.’
All in all, it looked like a beautiful ceremony. However, what we didn’t hear in the video was the soundtrack to the groom’s entrance which included Mystikal’s ‘Here I Go’ and Future’s ‘March Madness’. In a bonus video on her Instagram page, Toya shared her hubby’s swagged-out march down the aisle.
In recent days, she has shared behind-the-scenes footage of the entire event.
The couple got engaged in late 2019. During a helicopter ride, Red’s over-the-top proposal left the Tiny and Toya star in tears.
