Apollo Nida is a married man once again, after quietly tying the knot with Sherien Almufti. According to TMZ, the pair got married in October in an intimate ceremony held at a church in Atlanta with a few of their closest friends and family members in attendance — noticeably absent, however, were both of his children, Ayden and Dylan.
In photos obtained by the news publication, the happy couple poses in a handful of snaps after saying “I do.” Previous reports claimed Apollo started seeing Sherien after Phaedra decided to pull the plug on their marriage and filed for divorce back in 2014, though the former “Real Housewives” star claimed she had known about Sherien long before she was even legally separated from her ex-husband.
The two became engaged in 2016 while Apollo was still serving time behind bars for committing mail, wire, and bank fraud, which has resulted in a judge sentencing him to eight years in prison. He would end up serving five years. Sources add that though Ayden and Dylan were not there for the nuptials, Apollo and Phaedra have been actively co-parenting their sons together and remain on cordial terms for the sake of their children.
Apollo previously made headlines back in August when he appeared on Season 14 of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” to discuss where things currently stood between him and Phaedra, who was fired from the show back in 2017.
Apollo dined with Shereé Whitfield as he reiterated his previous comments about his ex-wife’s actions after he began serving his time behind bars, claiming she turned “cold-blooded” and had “left me basically to die.”
“Phaedra basically left me to rot,” he added. “It showed me you wasn’t there for me.” Apollo also alleged that his former flame had prevented him from seeing his children following his legal issues, which he said were things that ultimately showed him Phaedra’s true colors.
A source via Page Six claimed that Phaedra’s friends were appalled that Sheree would have even agreed to film a scene with Apollo considering she’s supposed to be friendly with the famed attorney, who once represented Bobby Brown in one of his court cases.
“It’s a shame that Shereé, who claims to be Phaedra’s good friend, would listen to Apollo’s sob story and not stand up and say, ‘Please stop bad-mouthing the woman who has supported you through everything,’” the insider noted.
“The last thing [Nida] should be doing is talking negatively to anyone about her, especially since there is a legal agreement in their divorce decree that neither of them will ever speak disparagingly about one another.”
