Details From This Wedding Day

Deciding to plan a micro wedding allows couples to have the best of both worlds when it comes to eloping and planning a traditional wedding. Megan and JD were able to say their “I dos” with their friends and family by their side, and still enjoy an adventure together.

“These two were so much fun and I loved how much their family and the groom’s daughters were apart of this day. It was very much about getting married and experiencing it as a family. They are cattle ranchers back home, and so having their ceremony on a cattle ranch outside of Yellowstone was a perfect fit for them. These two really made a point to make this day tailored to who they were, having special mementos (such as the special pins the bride wore under her dress from the groom’s grandmas) to really have a sense of home to their day.” [Heather]

Memorable Moments During This Yellowstone Wedding Ceremony

These two took planning a Yellowstone park ceremony to a whole new level! They incorporated Yellowstone into their wedding ceremony as much as they could to commemorate amazing elopement destination.

“From the song “Yellowstone” by S. Carey being the song the bride walked down the “aisle” during the ceremony to them having Yellowstone whiskey on hand. I loved the small ways they included the magical place they were in into the plan and design of their intimate wedding.” [Heahter]

Heather also tells us how much these two were willing to roll with all of her suggestions and were amazing when it came to communicating with their expectations for their special day. In the end, they were able to enjoy a perfect ceremony together and see a stunning sunset against Yellowstone’s iconic landscape.

Top Tips When Planning a Yellowstone Park Wedding

When it comes to deciding you want to elope near or within Yellowstone park, you want to make sure you have the permits required and you’re following the rules and regulations of the park.

“Yellowstone has a pretty strict permit process. If you’re a couple looking to elope in Yellowstone, make sure your photographer/videographers have their photo permits or can get their permits in time before booking them. I personally have my annual pass so I’m just ready to go. Also, Yellowstone, being one of the most popular (and First)National Parks get’s super busy. Make sure to give your timeline a lot of space for travel times and working around other visitors.” [Heather]

What Should You Pack For Your Adventure Together

After their Yellowstone park ceremony, these two explored the west side of the park together. It’s important to pack things that will not only make your adventure more comfortable but also safer too. Here are some things Heather recommends for couples who are planning a longer hike:

“Having a bear-safe cooler and bear spray is an absolute must. Especially since restaurants and convenience stores are few and far between, you’ll want to have snacks and food on hand however, food in the car is a quick invitation for the countless wildlife that lives in Yellowstone. Also, ample bug spray and sunscreen and a cute but cozy jacket as temps can dip quickly in the evenings especially in the spring and fall. Also, in the summer, look out for haze and smoke from wildfires. This is pretty common, especially in late summer.” [Heather]

“When your planning your wedding, take a few moments to write down all the things you’d want or wouldn’t want before going on Pinterest or similar sites. Inspiration is amazing, and I highly encourage it, but, there’s also a beauty in what I like to call the ‘discovery phase’. This is where it’s just the two of you really dreaming up what you’d like your wedding day to look like before being ‘influenced’ by the endless amounts of inspiration out there. Don’t be afraid to be different. Think outside of the box. Tap into those creative and dreamlike parts of each other to really create a day that’s 100% you.” [Heather]
