Pune: BJP Leader Dhananjay Mahadik Among 3 Booked For COVID Rule Violation At Wedding Ceremony – Punekar News

Hadapsar, February 22, 2021: An case has been registered by Pune city police against three persons including Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former MP Dhananjay Mahadik for not following Coronavirus disease (COVID19) prevention guidelines at a marriage ceremony.

According to the Hadapsar police station, on Sunday, Dhananjay Mahadik’s son’s wedding ceremony was held at Laxmi Lawns near Magarpatta City in Hadapsar. There were more guests than the prescribed limit and they were not wearing the mask.

An FIR has been registered against Dhananjay Mahadik, Laxmi Lawns owner Vivek Magar and manager Nirupal Kedar at Hadapsar police station. They have been booked for offences under sections 188, 269 and 271 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), section 51 of the Disaster Management Act and Section 11 of the Maharashtra Covid Measures 2020.

The marriage ceremony was attended by veteran leaders of all parties. Senior leaders Sharad Pawar, Ramdas Athavale, Devendra Fadnavis, Chandrakant Patil, Udayan Raje Bhosale, Pravin Darekar and many others were present. Many of them did not wear masks.
