Grab the brown M & Ms! Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey virtually reunited on Tuesday January 26th to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their film The Wedding Planner.
The former comrades-in-arms played wedding planner Mary Fiore and Dr. Steve “Eddie” Edison falling in love after meeting on the streets of San Francisco when Mary is almost hit by a dumpster. The problem: Steve is the groom of one of Mary’s customers. Two decades after filming together, the two reflected on their time on the set and focused on two of the most memorable scenes.
“It still feels like we were in the middle of this area with the cinema just yesterday,” said 51-year-old Lopez McConaughey, also 51, during an Instagram Live interview. “Do you remember the scene when you wanted to kiss me?”

“Jenny From the Block” singer noted that McConaughey gave her a heads-up before they kissed during the park scene where her characters get happy.
“You said, ‘Miss Lopez, I’m going to kiss you now,’” she recalled. “And I’m like, ‘OK, let’s do it. Let’s meet it. ‘I remember it exactly. “
Lopez then revealed why the dumpster scene, where their characters first meet was her favorite.
“One of my favorite lines in the whole thing, one of the reasons I love this script [is]”They smell like grilled cheese and plums,” said Lopez. “It was just the idea that she’s fading and kind of like that Prince Charming rescuing her and her and saying, ‘You smell like grilled cheese and plums. ‘It was just so real. “
McConaughey looked back at this scene fondly and said that he realized that “J. Lo is a baller. “

The Dallas Buyers Club actress recalled Lopez doing her own stunts in the movie as well. “A lot of people wouldn’t have done that,” he said. “That was the day I said, ‘Oh yeah, J. Lo is sweating.’ When you’re on set, you enjoy doing the work. “
The Grammy winner said she wanted to “make it look like it really beats me before he gets in,” and said the duo had “some close calls”.
McConaughey, however, recalled removing Lopez’s fears about the scene by telling her, “I won’t be late.”
Both actors revealed that they are being stopped a lot to talk about the rom-com that came out in 2001, stating that they only have fond memories of the set.
“I enjoyed working with you so much,” Lopez said of her former co-star. “It was like a magical time. I’m also so romantic that working on films like this feels real to me. “
The Oscar winner stated that “we need a little lightness” in movies, adding that the wedding planner made viewers feel like they were “dancing above the clouds.” It feels a bit like Saturday while you watch. “
Before unsubscribing, Lopez McConaughey promised that “we’ll do something again, baby,” added, “I miss your energy. I hope to be with you soon. “
For his part, McConaughey praised the Shades of Blue alum for how “deliberate” it is in everything it does. “I’ve always referred to you as a quad threat, which is actually not enough,” he added, noting that she does more than four things perfectly.
The wedding planner also played the main role Judy Greer, Justin Chambers and Bridgette Wilson-Sampras.
