Framed Print of Drunk, blaming in a ditch; Hos Ritus Celebrant Epicuri de Grege Porci; Emblemata Saecularia, 1596
Drunk, blaming in a ditch; Hos Ritus Celebrant Epicuri de Grege Porci; Emblemata Saecularia, 1596. A drunk young man is blainating in a ditch. He is held by his size, who points to two men who carried out a large ton of beer in the background. Two sober tonne carriers are able to wear a full barrel of beer, while a drunk person can tolerate nothing (anymore). The moral: hats you for explicit drinking with all the evaluated consequences. Emblem no. 14 in Emblemata Saecularia, 1596 and No. 35 in the second edition of 1611
