Meghan and Tim had a traditional wedding ceremony in New York, right in the peak of the fall colors. It was a Halloween wedding that felt nothing like Halloween. If you are looking for some micro wedding inspiration in New York, this one is definitely it. The bright fall colors, the brick exterior, the custom wedding dress and suit, the florals. I can’t get enough!

New York Wedding Photographer Review
This review had me tearing up so I had to share!!
We can’t recommend Mile Square Moments enough! After we saw our close friend’s engagement photos, we knew who we wanted to capture our wedding. We were extremely lucky Devin was available and we highly recommend getting her on your calendar as soon as possible.
Throughout the process, with last minute adjustments, changes due to Covid, Devin was always available, engaged, helpful, easygoing, detailed, and provided wonderful suggestions to ease the burden. Devin was a Godsend! During the wedding, Devin was perfect, super professional, not overbearing, but omnipresent and just had this calm way about her, perfect for the intimate environment. Hard to put a finger on it, but we just knew Devin had us covered.
After the wedding, Devin was super prepared, organized and got everyone where they needed to be without losing that easygoing nature. Multiple folks remarked how good Devin was. From experience, wedding photographers can go 2 ways sometimes, it can be very involved/overbearing, maybe a bit too much, or it can be too passive, where you wish a correction was made after the fact. Devin was perfectly in the middle, super efficient and deliberate so we weren’t wasting time but also making the simple, important corrections when needed. No shortcuts and no feelings of ‘when are these going to be done?’
After wedding photos were a lot of fun. Devin’s so likable and takes such a genuine interest in her couples it felt like we’ve been friends for a long time! Great experience and perfect ending to our time in front of the professional lens. So, there you have it, perfect experience for our perfect day. And then we got the photos! Which were everything we hoped they could be and more!
A Quick New York Engagement
This might surprise you, but this is one of the few weddings in 2020 I shot that was planned AFTER the pandemic started. Meghan and Tim’s dog Riley (who makes a special appearance in the photos below, by the way!), went to stay with Meghan’s dad in NC for two months when COVID started to help while the two of them found a new apartments and dealt with demanding jobs. When they drove to NC to pick up Riley, they made a day out of it. They spent the summer day floating down the river, enjoying some much needed sunshine and enjoying each other’s company in the great outdoors. Then, as soon as Meghan’s family left to pick up dinner, Tim said he had been meaning to ask her something. When Meghan turned around, he was down on one knee with his grandmother’s engagement ring in his hand.
After the June 2020 engagement, they jumped right into planning with no time to waste. Although such a quick engagement is hardly the norm nowadays, they couldn’t wait to start their next chapter together. Those are the kind of vibes Mile Square Moments loves to be a part of. Although Meghan and Tim weren’t able to have a large wedding this year, they are planning a larger celebration and epic vow renewal when the time is right.
Custom Wedding Attire
If right now, you are thinking that they might be one of the best dressed wedding couples, I have to agree. The bride wore a custom wedding dress and the groom a custom suit! I also loved the buttons Meghan had on her reception flats – such a unique touch that I can’t say I see too often! Meghan got ready at a dog-friendly hotel, so their precious fur baby Riley makes an appearance below. What a sweetie! I love when couples find a way to make their dog part of their day – even if it is only at the beginning! If you are looking for hotels for your getting ready photos and have a few options, choose the one with the biggest windows! I love the way these turned out.
Traditional Wedding Ceremony in New York
More and more couples are choosing to have first looks before the wedding ceremony, and if you have read this blog before, you know that I LOVE a first look. But Tim’s face when he saw Meghan walking down the aisle? Let’s just say it made a strong case for a traditional wedding ceremony in New York. Meghan and Tim got married at a private chapel with their closest family and friends.
New York Fall Wedding Photos in Tuxedo Park
Fall weddings are always beautiful but I honestly think looking at these photos that the leaves were at their best on Meghan and Tim’s wedding. The yellow and orange tones looked stunning against Tim’s custom Classic Blue suit and Meghan’s ivory wedding dress with her fur throw. After their traditional church ceremony, we headed to Tuxedo Park to take some stunning bride and groom photos outdoors to embrace the beauty of it all!
After the New York Wedding: Congratulations to the Newlyweds!
When I originally asked what part of the wedding day they were most excited for, it was to be married! Meghan and Tim couldn’t wait to “officially” start their life together. One thing I mention in this post about what 2020 taught me, is that love always wins. This fun-loving couple definitely reminded me of that! I can definitely see many cozy weekends at home together, watching movies and playing games. All the fun “married couple” kind of things. Now time to pop some champagne!
