After (湯怡) announced her pregnancy and engagement to dance choreographer Shing Mak (麥秋成) last month, the couple held an intimate wedding ceremony on February 26. The exuberant bride said she is grateful for Shing coming into her life and felt like she is living in a dream, while he professed his forever love to Kathy.
Speaking of touching moments from the ceremony, Kathy and Shing both confessed that they burst into tears when their parents gave speeches. Kathy was wearing a sparkly two-carat diamond ring, and their families passed on many heirlooms to them, including Shing’s grandmother’s gold ring and a gold necklace Shing’s mother bought for him when he was 18.
Wearing a low-cut wedding dress, Kathy’s baby bump is beginning to show at four months into her pregnancy. With the baby expected to arrive at the end of July, Kathy will adjust to motherhood first before thinking of having another. Kathy wants to keep the baby’s gender a secret, while Shing joked that they could be having twins. The groom also declared that he wants to have at least five to six children.
Given the pandemic restrictions, the couple limited their guests to 90 people. Aaron Kwok (郭富城), who has been longtime friends with Shing and worked with Kathy on two films, was very happy to attend the wedding ceremony. “I’ve watched Shing grow up, become a dance choreographer, and help me out at my concert.” Asked what type of gift he prepared for the newlyweds, Aaron said, “Money is the most practical!” As for any particular parenting advice he will be sharing, Aaron said, “We’ll sit down and chat about it when there is time. Being a dad is a happy thing!”
When the newlyweds were asked if they would be holding a larger wedding banquet at a later time, Kathy does not think it is possible until the end of year. She wants to lose weight after giving birth before seeing everyone again. Shing is considering TVB executive Virginia Lok‘s (樂易玲) suggestion to just host a joint 100-day baby celebration alongside their wedding banquet.
