About Paul Cunliffe – Wedding Celebrant in Phuket & Thailand
If you are choosing a wedding celebrant, you are not just booking a service — you are choosing the person who will set the tone for one of the most important moments of your wedding day.
My name is Paul Cunliffe, and I am an English-speaking wedding celebrant based in Phuket, Thailand. For over 10 years, I have been helping couples create personalised wedding ceremonies that feel natural, relaxed and professionally delivered.
I conduct ceremonies weekly across Phuket, including beach weddings, villa weddings, resort weddings and private celebrations. I also conduct ceremonies throughout Thailand, with travel and accommodation costs applied for locations outside Phuket.
My Approach
Every couple is different, and I believe every ceremony should reflect that.
Some couples want something classic and romantic. Others prefer a relaxed and informal tone. Some want a simple structure, while others want a fully bespoke ceremony built around their story.
My role is to guide you through the process, help shape your ceremony, assist with vows if needed, create a smooth and well-paced flow, and deliver the ceremony with warmth and professionalism.
The goal is always the same — a ceremony that feels authentic and memorable.
Personalised Ceremony Process
After booking, I send 3 to 4 example ceremony scripts for you to review. From there, you can choose one ceremony style, mix elements from several scripts, or create a completely bespoke ceremony.
We then refine the wording together until everything feels right.
Wedding Officiant Fee
My standard wedding officiant fee in Phuket is:
8,000 THB
This includes:
- personalised ceremony delivery
- ceremonial wedding certificate
- Unity Sand Ritual
- pre-wedding consultation and planning
- ceremony coordination on the day
For weddings outside Phuket, travel and accommodation costs would be added depending on the location.
Ceremonies Throughout Thailand
I also conduct ceremonies across Thailand, including destinations such as:
- Krabi
- Koh Samui
- Bangkok
- Chiang Mai
- Koh Phi Phi
- other locations on request
Optional Support Beyond the Ceremony
I am occasionally asked to help guide the formal parts of the wedding beyond the ceremony itself. In some cases, this includes welcoming guests, introducing key moments, coordinating speeches and helping the reception formalities run smoothly.
If I provide this additional support, I would normally remain until all formalities are complete and the wedding party has started, after which the celebration continues naturally.
That said, I often recommend that this role is performed by someone known to the couple, such as a friend or family member, as this usually makes the experience feel more personal and meaningful.
Where professional support is preferred, this can be arranged for an additional 15,000 THB on top of the ceremony fee.

Alongside my work as a wedding celebrant, I also run a consulting business in Thailand. My professional background includes working with international clients, planning events and coordinating projects, all of which helps ensure your wedding ceremony is handled calmly and professionally.
This experience helps with communication with international couples, working with planners and venues, managing ceremony timing and flow, and maintaining a relaxed but structured approach.

Legal Wedding Clarification
I also coordinate legal wedding support for couples marrying in Thailand. This is separate from celebrant services and handled through the official Thai government process with local support.
Many couples choose to complete the legal marriage at home and then have a personalised celebrant-led ceremony in Thailand.
