The last child of the immediate past Soun of Ogbomoso, late Oba (Dr.) Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III (CON, CFR) and Ayaba Olaronke Oyewumi, Prince Adebukunola Oyewumi, on Friday, December 16, got married to the love of his life, Fatima Gaya, daughter of a former secretary to the government of the defunct Gongola state, late Alhaji Ibrahim Gaya and Hajiya Halima-Sadiya Gaya.
Their love story began with a friendship which started in the year 2014 when the groom visited an MTN office in Abuja to retrieve a sim card and met the bride who was then an employee of the telecommunication company.
Thereafter, one thing led to another until their relationship blossomed into marriage.
The adorable couple are both UK-trained professionals.
The son of the late Soun holds a masters degree in human resource management from the prestigious Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, United Kingdom, while the bride holds a masters degree in human resource management and development from the University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom.
The wedding ceremony witnessed a Fatiha which took place at Al-Nur Mosque, Ibrahim Babangida Way, Wuse 2, Abuja, after Jumat prayers on Friday.
The Fatiha was followed by a superlative reception at the exquisite diamond hall of A-Class event centre, along Kashim Ibrahim way, Maitama, Abuja, with the wave of the moment, Laolu Gbenjo, on the band stand.
A former governor of Bauchi state, His Excellency, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu, who was the chairman of the reception ceremony, described the groom, Prince Adebukunola, as his son and counseled the couple to always let love reign in their marriage.
Array of dignitaries who graced the event include the former governor of Bauchi state, Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Muazu, former minister of special duties and intergovernmental affairs, Dr. Kabiru Taminu Turaki, Prince Dr. Aderemi Oyewumi, Senator Abdul Fatai Buhari, Chairman of NEITI, Professor Olusegun Adekunle, Ambassador Akin Oyateru, chairman of Eye Foundation hospital, Dr. Adekunle Hassan, CEO of Tulcan Energy Resources Ltd, Prince Tayo Adiatu.
Also, the executive secretary, National Sugar Development Council, Zach Adedeji Adelabu, Dr. Samson Adegoke (Maigida), Dr. Akin Onigbinde, Hon. Segun Odebunmi (Bunvic), Alhaji Monsur Ejide, Hon.
