My heart desires always to glorify God and bless His Name. That is why I am taking the Licensed Christian Wedding Officiant course at the Christian Leaders Institute and getting the credential recognition with the Christian Leaders Alliance (Learn more about studying the Bible online, Click Here).
I grew up in a Christan family. My father is a pastor to this day. He is very passionate in his teachings about Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. He brought a lot of people to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. I witnessed a lot of miracles and bountiful blessings during his ministry.
However, I also witnessed the struggles. Pastors and ministers here in the Philippines don’t have much financial support. But, because we want to continue the calling, my parents often went to live in different places to support churches. I am thankful that wherever we are, God has blessed the work of our hands. I am 43 years old, a mom of four very energetic children, and a loving wife of a humble businessman, Aloysius Chika, 42 years old.
Seeking God’s Leading
I am in the Music Ministry and have been a song leader since I was 13. I am humbled by how God has used my voice to touch the hearts of the people and lead them to worship in spirit and in truth. Lately, while meditating, I asked myself, “What if I can no longer sing? What if I am not allowed anymore to lead the worship because of my health condition?” Diagnosed with kidney failure, I am on dialysis treatment every week and fighting for my life. However, despite the challenges that I have now, I try to live a normal life for the Lord.
Then, I know that I am already getting older. My voice is different than it was. What else can I do in the church? I asked the Lord if it was too late for me to have new opportunities in my life because of my age and my condition. Is there another ministry I can do to help expand the Lord’s ministry? Do you know what the Lord replied to me? “As long as you breathe, it is not too late!” My tears fell. That night, I felt called to become a pastor.
Finding CLI: Wedding Officiant Credential
So, I messaged my husband that I wanted to become a Pastor or a minister where I can be most effective. He suggested an online class. That’s how I found the Christian Leaders Institute. While I was scrolling and checking the courses at CLI, the Wedding Officiant course caught my eye. No matter how I scrolled down to look for other ministry courses, my heart knew I wanted to get a Wedding Officiant credential first. However, I am looking forward to completing a lot of courses in the future at CLI, as many as I can! I am very excited knowing there is something that I can do in the future.
My husband and I also look forward to building a church by God’s grace. With CLI, I know I can be more effective in God’s work through the great learning skills I will attain with the help of the Lord. I am glad that CLI has provided free training and free courses, which is really a great idea and help for us that seek to grow spiritually. I pray that God will bless you more!
The following morning, after I talked to my spouse about my decision with CLI, I told my mom that I would be a Pastor. My mom shouted, “Hallelujah!” She told me that my father will be so proud of me. My father is 73 years old now. His name is Moses, and I know I will be his “Joshua.”
I look forward to officiating my first wedding ceremony once I am licensed. Also, I am excited to let my church know that we will have a new Wedding Officiant ministry. To God be all the glory!
