The popular duo Emmy and Jeannie Mai tied the knot on March 27, 2021, one year past their engagement. Emmy, who is an award-winning TV host and also a Grammy-nominated popular recording artist together with partner Jeannie Mai, an activist shared moments from their lovely wedding ceremony all the way from their home in Atlanta. According to the couple, they first met on The Real; a daytime talk show.
Meandering down the memory lane, Jeannie said, “Years later he asked me on a date.” Further, she said they, “Shared a romantic sushi dinner in Los Angeles and salsa danced the night away. Later that evening, he asked if I could picture spending the rest of my life with him. And crazy enough I could.”
In March 2020, the duo had to drop an arranged outing to Vietnam, where unbeknownst to Jeannie, Jeezy had intended to propose. All things considered, he set up a Vietnam-themed night out on the town, to pay tribute to her nation of origin, while in Los Angeles that ultimately resulted in him popping up the question, to which she immediately responded saying, “Yes.” According to Jeannie, the couple had the urge to have their wedding ceremony at Lake Como in the South of France.
Jeannie said, “We were really looking forward to having all of our friends and family there to celebrate, but we had to change all of our wedding plans because of COVID.”
Further, Jeannie added they understood the fact about how brief life is upon Jeezy’s mother’s sudden demise shortly after. She said that by the day’s end, Jeezy and Jeannie truly simply needed to become a couple. So they transformed their unique wedding into small money, where they traded their pledges before their close family and a couple of dear companions.

Jeannie says, “For hair and makeup, I wanted a sleek and graceful finish, along with a bit of drama. So Lisa and I worked on a handmade headpiece with a 15-foot Galia Lahav veil. My hairstylist, Kristen, impressively sewed this into my hair.”
According to her, the bride’s friend integrated everything by creating diamond and morganite drop earrings. Likewise, Jeezy too needed a customized touch for the big day, so he called upon his #1 tailor, Teofilo Flor, and beautician Kris Shelby to make champagne redden a suit that projected strength and refinement yet with a touch of playfulness as well. Upon approach, the visitors were present with off-white, a shading that, to the couple, addresses the harmony in their association.
The service had occurred in the open garden at the couple’s home against a background of magnolia, birch, and maple trees; a setting that was both private and familial. “Wherever you went, there were tall glass candles lighting your way,” Jeannie says. “Furthermore, we had a live band, Trap Jazz, play out our main tunes.”
As visitors showed up, everybody got the stairs towards the open garden to join the wedding ceremony and make memories. After every relative continued down the walkway, the dad of the lucky man laid a solitary pink rose on a seat held for the late Sharon Denise Jenkins, Jeezy’s mom. Author and Pastor John Maxwell held up at the special stepped area as Jeezy advanced down the walkway to “I Can’t Stop Loving You” by Kem. At that point, we offered our appreciation to our folks and predecessors by bowing multiple times, every one representing a critical blessing in the existence that they have furnished us with.”
Following the tea function, the couple traded pledges of responsibility and afterward sealed it all with a kiss. A short time later, Jeezy shocked Jeannie by having Tyrese serenade them for their first dance to “Sweet Lady.” “The entire night was loaded up with addresses and interesting recollections from every one of our visitors,” says the bride. “Not to be outperformed, my mom, Mama Mai, started the after-party with her very own exceptional performance”
To proceed with the festival, the gathering, at last, moved the after-party into the couple’s parlor. There, visitors enjoyed their gifts of monogrammed Cozy Earth night robe and slippers. “Jeezy and I changed into our own special matching Versace silk pajamas,” says Jeannie. “Then we danced the night away to our favorite hits, feeling cozier than ever,” she added.
