Page Boy and Flower Girl
A really sweet way to include your children in your wedding ceremony is to invite them to be a page boy or flower girl. Depending on how young your children are, they could either walk down the aisle alone, with each other, or with an adult. Alternatively, if they’re feeling very confident, your child/children could walk you down the aisle!
Bridesmaid or Groomsman
Older children may feel totally comfortable being included in the wedding party as a bridesmaid or groomsman, or even a junior bridesmaid or junior groomsman. Decide how appropriate this will be based on their age and comfort levels.
Welcoming guests
As guests walk into the wedding ceremony, why not have your children join the wedding party in welcoming guests?
Hand out confetti
This is a very sweet task that doesn’t require much from your children. All they’ve got to do is hold a basket or box with confetti as guests walk out of the ceremony venue. We recommend having an adult present to take charge of the box and to assist if the children get nervous.
Bouquet and rings
Ask your younger children to hold onto the bouquet or rings! They will feel so special during the ceremony.
